Dear Santa: A Virtual Assistant's Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

Merry Christmas! I hope I have been a good enough Virtual Assistant this year because boy, do I have a list! This time of year is stressful, and I know my CEOs could use some help staying ahead of all of the details and events this quarter. So this year, I’m asking for some peace for my Executive.

Please help them manage their inbox, and handle scheduling their calendar. And speaking of calendars, because the holidays are coming up, my Executive will have some personal plans as well. So, Santa, could you spare a reindeer or two to help them get where they need to be when they need to be there? If not, please help them organize their travel plans and book transportation and lodging.

If it wouldn’t be too much to ask, could you also help my Executive organize and analyze any market or product research? Then, please help them form the results quickly and easily digestible to best use the data to grow their business.

And Santa, please help my Executive take detailed and efficient notes at all of their meetings. If anything important comes up, please get them in contact with all relevant people and departments quickly, and keep them apprised of what they need to know.

Whew, Santa. I’m really sorry, but we’re only part of the way there. However, I did say there was a list . . .

Santa, I know that a business can only be successful if the employees are dedicated and motivated. So please help my Executive find ways to keep morale high. For example, help them plan celebrations when necessary, and maybe form some committees to ensure that every employee feels valued and is happy to work hard to improve the business.

Please, Santa, help my Executive keep track of changes or adjustments in employment (and keep it confidential if you don’t mind!) And please keep my Executive on top of all of the ins and outs of the office.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you also help my Executive keep track of any gifts that need to be bought and delivered? Maybe you could send an elf to manage all of the presents, whether they are personal gifts for friends and family or professional gifts for employees, co-workers, and colleagues? Any help that my Executive could get in tracking the expenses and managing the logistics of gift-giving would help them out a lot!

Santa, you and I both know that the best present is often just being present, so please help my Executive destress and focus on spending some time with those they love this holiday season.

I hope I haven’t stressed you out too much with this list; I know it’s a lot!

On second thought, Santa, just get them a gift, and I’ll take care of the rest!

With love,

Your Friendly Virtual Executive Assistant
